I had a Logic3 USB Memory Card adaptor. All you needed was one of those PS1 -> PS3 USB Memory Card Adaptors. You can also exploit two memory cards by repeatedly creating new files on a second memory card to transfer over cards from its starting deck to your main save. I know you can apparently do it with a modded PS2 and some software that will export the saves to a USB drive but I thought there was surely a handier way to do this instead of having to get myself a modded PS2.Īfter a bit of random Googling I came across this obscure website from a developer who made a tool to back up PS1 save files onto your PC. I'm not entirely sure how long PS1 memory cards are expected to survive but I wanted to lay out a plan where I could back up the save files off of them. I had a look through them again recently and discovered my old Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories save was still on it! I created a reddit post at the time about my Final Fantasy 7 save that still existed on those memory cards. Not too long ago I came across a bunch of my old PS1 memory cards. ![]()
